Pre-Construction Estimating Manager

The Pre-Construction Estimating Manager is primarily responsible for hospitality related construction efforts primarily involving early stages of design/development/procurement/budgets for multiple large projects. Acts as direct point of contact with internal construction and development teams and contractors.

 Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead efforts to capture industry comparable data and internal historical data regarding investment(cost), area program and schedule
  • Management of pre-construction scope and services
  • Lead procurement strategies for multiple development projects
  • Adherence to budget, schedule and quality during all phases of design, development and pre-construction
  • Provide timely and comprehensive reporting against schedule and budget
  • Perform constructability analysis and value-engineering for projects
  • Make recommendations to the project leaders on bid packages and supports contract administration procedures
  • Support active projects under construction regarding change management
  • Maintain historical data records (cost, schedule, area program, lessons learned, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned

Essential Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or related; or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years’ experience in pre-construction / estimating experience in hospitality related industry
  • New build experience is a must
  • Experience working for a developer preferred
  • Experience with developing professional bid packages and contract management
  • Proven analytical ability
  • Ability to maintain a focus on both the big picture and the details
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills are essential
  • Strong project and process management skills
  • Demonstrated effective communication, cooperation and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong leadership qualities and communication skills with the ability to maintain good relations with employees, supervisor and clients
  • Ability to successfully manage cross functional relationships while ensuring accountability for deadlines and commitments
  • MS Word, Outlook and Excel required
  • Must have a valid Florida driver’s license and be insurable for automobile insurance with company’s auto insurance carrier
  • Ability to communicate in English effectively with other individuals
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions


  • Essential Physical Requirements:
  • Must be in good physical condition to perform above job duties as outlined above.  Duties require long periods of standing, kneeling, squatting, bending and lifting requirements of up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to navigate through rough and uneven terrain
  • Must be able to work in inclement weather conditions
  • Must have ability to work in hot, humid, and muggy conditions on continuous basis
